Fable Fantasy

"Why would you break into my house?" Russell asked.

"Because we need food and you fairies have abundance," Clare answered.

"So why would you not ask for it?"

"Ask!"

"Yes. That is the normal way of receiving things, is it not?"

Yeah, but it is insane to walk into the fairylands and ask you for food. How do I know you would not poison it?"

"Why would I do that?"

"Your kind is evil."

"You say, I am evil, yet you were the one who attacked a child, broke my door, and were stealing. Clearly, your idea of evil and mine are two different things."

Clare knew what she did was wrong but she hadn't eaten for days and she knew that stories had to be true after all any human that ever came here to live never came back over the Mimicing River. Surely, they were dead. Taken or possibly just murdered on the spot.

"I can't believe that!... I didn't attack a child! That was a guard!"

"No, young one you hit my sister who is not but ten years old with my mother's favorite pot, I might add. You seem to be under the delusion of the fantasy that Blood Fairies are monsters and that humans and Blood Fairies could never exist with one another, but let me show you what the truth is."

A harsh metal clank of the door echoed off the walls.

"Come follow me."

The coldness that wrapped her body began to warm like a blanket had wound around her. Until they reached what she figured out to be the entrance to the dungeon. He opened the door and light poured over her dirty body inviting her to stay. The echo of his steps stalled in her ears as she watched him walk down the corridor to a swirling cloud of smoke.

The smoke shifted and changed color drenching itself in a beautiful burnt orange. He reached his hand out silently asking her to walk with him. She darted down the corridor, "This is the front door, if you are looking for a way out other than this- you will not find it."

She swiftly met up with him and stomped through on the bright green grass of the small town of Firelight. The deep red color of the barn stood twenty feet from where they had come to the green field, the barn had the words FIRELIGHT PRESS scrolled across it. The town blanketed itself out like a friendly neighborhood. One in which you could easily mistake yourself for living there for your entire life.

"This is Firelight. Fairies of air, water, fire, and earth, living among humans and dragons alike. I know of the rumors you fear, the ones that say the humans that live here are dead but they are not. We are headed to the Social Dunker, which is owned by Mr. Elm he was originally born in your town called Prosperity. He now lives here with his wife and three daughters, Hope, Starfire, and Constance. They have the best restaurant in town. I believe this small town devotes much of its time to visiting and socializing within the Social Dunker. I think it will last for centuries."
